RIYADH: The Arab Interior Ministers Council (AIMC) on Monday strongly condemned the repeated terrorist attacks carried out by the Houthi militia in Yemen against Ƶ’s territory.
In the most recent attempt, the Arab coalition intercepted and destroyed an explosive-laden drone launched by the Iran-backed Houthis toward a populated area in the southern city of Khamis Mushait.
“The council condemns these cowardly terrorist acts through which these militias are trying to target civilians and civilian objects and threaten the security and stability of the region, in flagrant violation of all international laws and norms,” the AIMC General Secretariat said in a statement issued from its headquarters in Tunisa.
The council praised the roles of the Saudi defense and Arab coalition forces and the “appropriate measures taken to protect civilians and confront all terrorist attacks.”
The council also reiterated its “complete support for all measures taken by the Kingdom to ensure the security and safety of its facilities, citizens and residents.”
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation, along with the UAE and Bahrain, also condemned the attack on Sunday and called on the international community to take a firm position to stop the attacks.
